The Learning Center

The Learning Center consists of three sections:

  • Patent Research - The museum collects information about U.S. Patents awarded to area residents since 1850. In this section of our site you will find a small selection of the museum's collection of sketches for patents submitted by Belleville's industrial innovators.
  • Archival Library - In the past two years, 300 archival pieces have been catalogued in our reference library of documents and books, which chronicles the struggles of the working man and woman and the creation of the American middle class.
  • Photo Archives - 1,300 images of Belleville industry, labor, social activities, businesses, architecture, people, education, government and ecclesiastical history will eventually be added to the museum's digital photo collection. This section contains a few samples from our growing collection.
